The City’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Speaker Series continues on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 6 pm at the Wilsonville Library (8200 SW Wilsonville Rd.).
Please join staff from Wilsonville Police Department’s Behavioral Health Unit and Clackamas County’s Mobile Crisis Team, for a conversation about mental health symptoms in youth. This presentation will focus on:
*Understanding youth development
*Identifying signs of mental health conditions in youth
*Developing strategies for empathizing and connecting with youth in distress
*Discussing community resources and supports available to youth and their families.
The presenters welcome questions and will leave ample time for a question and answer session.
Presenters:
Brenda Evans, LCSW: Brenda is a trauma informed Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) with over twelve years of experience practicing in Utah and Oregon. Brenda works with the Clackamas County Mobile Crisis Team as a mental health practitioner embedded in the Wilsonville Police Department as the Behavioral Health Unit. She responds to mental health crises in the Wilsonville community with or without police, depending on the situation; her role provides community members with appropriate interventions and referrals during a crisis to ensure personal safety and mental health support.
Robbie Croft, LCSW: Robbie is a clinician on the Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT). Prior to working at MCRT, Robbie worked as an Inpatient Therapist in Oregon City and an Outpatient Therapist at a full fidelity Parent/Teen Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program in Omaha, Nebraska. SA Such, Robbie specializes crisis response services and in working with youth and families struggling to manage behaviors beyond typical developmental milestones.
Stacy England, LPC: Stacy is the Program Supervisor of the Clackamas County Mobile Crisis Response Team. She has worked as a Counselor and Supervisor in the field of mental health for twenty years. She specializes in treating transition aged youth, individuals who experience serious and persistent mental illness, and providing crisis services.
