The City of Wilsonville's Diverstiy, Equity and Inclusion Committee invites the community to attend their first Lunar New Year Celebration with cultural performance, traditional treats and family fun.
Lunar New Year is the beginning of the new year based on solar calendars and is one of the most important holidays in Chinese and other East Asian countries' culture. It celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. Key customs include spring cleaning, decorating with red and gold, exchanging red envelopes, enjoying festive meals, and participating in dragon and lion dances.
