Adult Summer Reading Program
"Plant a Seed, Read" starts June 1
All Clackamas County library card holders ages 18 and older can join in the fun. Complete a Bingo Card, a Reading Log, or a STEAM Log for entry into the Grand Prize Drawing at the end of summer.
The summer reading program starts Sunday, June 1, for kids and teens, too! The summer reading program ends Monday, August 31. Turn in your completed Bingo Cards and Reading/STEAM Logs by that date for entry into the Grand Prize Drawing.
Summer Reading Kick-off Event - Saturday, June 13, 10am-1pm
Kick-off your summer reading with a Summer Reading Program Party! Festivities start at 10am for you to collect your reading and STEAM logs. Kids and teens will receive a free book to jump start their summer reading. Free seedling plants from Al's Nursery for children and teens, while supplies last. Parents of children birth to 4 years can sign their child up for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library! At 11am be amazed by JuggleMania's Rhys Thomas hilarious and amazing circus juggling feats! Cupcakes served after JuggleMania's performance for a sweet start to the 2026 Summer Reading Program.
What is the Adult Summer Reading Program?
An opportunity for adults to read books and win prizes this summer.
Who can participate?
Adult Clackamas County library card holders. If you don’t have a library card, just ask at the Circulation Desk and we will help you get one.
What can I read?
Anything you want! The Bingo Cards have certain categories (genre, format, etc.). Reading Logs have no limits; read books, magazines, newspapers, blog posts, or listen to audiobooks - whatever you like to read.
How do I sign-up?
There is no sign-up.
So what do I do?
Read! Choose how you want to play: Bingo Card or Reading Logs or STEAM Logs, or all of them!
Pick up a Bingo Card and read books in the different genres and do the activities to make 5 squares in a row. When you have a Bingo, turn in the Bingo Card at the Library. Each Bingo Card you turn in will give you another entry in the Grand Prize Drawing. Last day to turn in Bingo Cards is Monday, August 31.
Want more of a challenge? Complete a Bingo Card Blackout. Do the activities for every square on the Bingo Card and turn the completed card in for 5 entries into the Grand Prize Drawing AND 1 entry into a special drawing.
Want more freedom in what you read? Then read 20 minutes a day for 20 days and complete a Reading Log! Each Reading Log you turn in (limit of 4) will give you another entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. Last day to turn in Reading Logs is Monday, August 31.
How about some science and art? Do 10 STEAM activities and complete a STEAM Log! Turn in a completed STEAM Log and receive a small prize AND an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. Last day to turn in Science Logs is Monday, August 31.
When is the Grand Prize Drawing?
The Grand Prize Drawing will be held Friday, September 4.
What are the prizes?
Prizes include gift cards to Al's Garden Center, Bellagios Pizza, and McMenamins.
It all starts Monday, June 1!
