City Seeks Civic-Minded Community Members to Fill Five Seats on City Boards and Commissions
February 24, 2025 — The City of Wilsonville is recruiting applicants interested in serving on the City boards and commissions that provide guidance and oversight of City programs.
The City is seeking to fill vacant seats on three City boards. Members typically attend evening meetings (no more than once a month) and assist in making policy recommendations to the City Council.
Positions to be filled include:
- One seat on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
- Two seats on the Kitakata Sister City Advisory Board
- Two seats on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
Diversity within the City’s Boards and Commissions is critical to ensure that City policies and programs serve people of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ability. People of all races, genders, ages and nationalities are encouraged to apply.
Qualified applicants are to be interviewed by Mayor Shawn O’Neil, who makes appointment recommendations to City Council that must then be approved by a majority vote.
The application deadline is March 30. Applications are available and may be completed online at ci.wilsonville.or.us/boardsapp.
For additional information on applying for board service, contact Kimberly Veliz, City Recorder, at 503-570-1506; cityrecorder@ci.wilsonville.or.us.
